Greenwich Giving and Funders Together are launching a bold new effort to boost giving in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Over the next 15 months, Funders Together will host Greenwich Giving, supporting them to grow their work and transition to an independent charity.
Funded by City Bridge Foundation, Greenwich Giving has been delivering in Greenwich since 2024, creating new routes for people and businesses to give money, time and skills to local charities and community projects. Following METRO’s closure in April 2026, this partnership with Funders Together means this vital work can continue.
Greenwich Giving has matched over 40 local charities with pro-bono support from businesses, funded 21 grassroots projects, including a dozen in partnership with Knight Dragon on the Greenwich Peninsula, and engaged more than 200 Greenwich residents in deciding where funding and resources should be directed in the borough.
Councillor Mariam Lolavar, Cabinet Member for Health, Adult Social Care and Communities, said: “Greenwich Giving plays a crucial role in improving wellbeing and strengthening the fabric of our borough. Their work touches many lives, particularly those who need support the most, and has already demonstrated the difference that place-based giving can make by bringing people together to tackle local challenges and support grassroots projects. We are delighted to see this important initiative enter a new chapter with Funders Together.
As a council, we recognise the vital role that the voluntary and community sector plays in supporting residents and improving people’s lives. Greenwich Giving helps unlock new partnerships, investment and opportunities that enable local organisations to thrive, and we look forward to seeing its impact continue to grow across the borough.
We’re proud to champion a scheme that embodies the compassion and generosity of our community and puts our neighbourhoods at the centre of its work.Cllr Mariam Lolavar

They bring significant expertise in collaborative funding and cross-sector partnerships.
James Bank, Chief Executive of Funders Together said: "Funders Together champions funding built on fairness and trust, powering communities to positively shape the world around them - so we're proud to be able to provide a home to Greenwich Giving, who are doing so much to bring people together across sectors to create positive, lasting change in their borough. We've seen the power of place-based giving across our city through working with local communities for 30 years, and look forward to the continued success of Greenwich Giving in the years ahead".
Annie Drewry, Chair of Greenwich Giving Steering Group adds "We are excited to enter this new phase of Greenwich Giving, strengthening our shared commitment to improving lives in Greenwich through making the positive case to donate and give locally. Alongside our new hosting partner, we are pleased to welcome back Anna Ritchie, who has been instrumental in securing the future of Greenwich Giving since METRO’s closure and will continue to head the project."
