Since launching in December 2024, Greenwich Giving has been on an ambitious journey to transform how our borough comes together.
Helping us with this mission are ten remarkable individuals who will form Greenwich Giving's inaugural Board. Together, they bring a wealth of experience in community development and leadership, charity governance, and most importantly, a deep commitment to Greenwich and its residents.
Annie Drewry brings thirty years of experience in the charity and non-profit equalities sector. She is the founder of the Big Red Bus Club, a family wellbeing centre based in Charlton Park, and currently serves as Director of The Big Red Kick, supporting women in Greenwich’s marginalised communities to create community wealth.
Annie grew up in Greenwich and has lived here all her life. She is passionate about securing prosperity for the area, ensuring every voice is heard, and that both geographic and thematic communities are not left behind or displaced. She is excited about Greenwich Giving as a new and dynamic organisation that can bridge the gap between the drivers of economic wealth and the grassroots community creators who all make Greenwich thrive.
Based in Greenwich, Shay Bello is a Quantity Surveyor and Commercial and Procurement Manager with over 14 years of experience delivering major infrastructure and public sector programmes.
She founded Bello Consulting to help public bodies, charities and small businesses deliver good projects that make public money go further. Her focus is on clarity, governance and social value, making sure that delivery actually works in practice.
Shay joined Greenwich Giving because she believes strong local partnerships and practical support can make a lasting difference in how communities thrive and how opportunity is shared. As Treasurer, she helps to ensure funding genuinely reaches residents and small organisations.
Victoria Shaskan is a freelance creative strategist, committed to helping communities thrive through initiatives that build understanding, resilience and lasting change. She has over 15 years of experience sustainably growing creative community-focused organisations, including leading innovative youth-led arts company Lewisham Youth Theatre. Her expertise lies in fundraising for place-based creative charities, co-creating with young people and communities, and building entrepreneurial partnerships.
Victoria is a school Governor, a member of Lewisham’s Cultural Partnership Board’s community working group, an associate of the Citizens in Power network and a Clore Leadership Pulse fellow.
Marko Schaffrick brings over 20 years of experience in finance and asset management, including portfolio management, strategic development, and executive leadership, having co-founded and grown several investment firms in the UK and Asia.
Marko is drawn to Greenwich Giving by the opportunity to help build and support a grassroots, place-based charity making a meaningful difference across the borough. He and his family enjoy Greenwich’s parks, cultural attractions, and historic sites, and he is excited to contribute to initiatives that benefit the local community.
Ushna Mughal is the Senior ESG and Community Impact Lead at Knight Dragon, the lead developer regenerating Greenwich Peninsula. She is responsible for developing and overseeing the sustainability and social value framework for the Greenwich Peninsula development, which includes the implementation of the £1.9m Greenwich Peninsula Community Fund.
Ushna has been a part of Greenwich Giving journey from the beginning. She wanted to get involved because the organisation promotes grassroots, community-driven change through a place-based model that fills a much-needed gap for giving schemes in Greenwich. Greenwich Giving offers a brilliant opportunity for meaningful public, voluntary and private sector collaboration that delivers real impact for individuals as well as wider society.
Inés Taylor is an impact and evaluation professional, with a special focus on education and social justice. She is the Head of Community Knowledge and Data at Camden Giving, and so she is a big believer in the power of place-based grant giving and change.
She lives in Greenwich, where she is involved in Woolwich Carnival, her residents' association, and will often walk her dog through the beautiful parks of Greenwich.
William Sarenden is the Executive Officer for Strategy and Projects at Birkbeck University. He also sits on the Mayor’s Fund for London Youth Board, a group of young Londoners helping to shape the charity’s work on tackling food insecurity, improving employability, and ensuring youth voices have influence across the city.
Having recently moved to Greenwich, William is excited to connect with the local area, and contribute his experience to help strengthen local connections and support projects that make a lasting difference for residents across the borough.
Tonya Maryliv is a finance and strategy professional with over 15 years of experience in the education and research sectors, currently working at the Institute of Cancer Research. Originally from Ukraine, she holds a Master’s in Finance and Economics from Metropolitan University London and is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA).
Joining the Greenwich Giving Board reflects her passion for community-led initiatives and place-based giving. She believes in the power of local collaboration to drive meaningful change and create inclusive opportunities. Living in Greenwich with her two young children, she's excited to contribute to a project that celebrates the borough’s diversity and strengthens connections across the community.
Clare Berry brings over 20 years of experience across the third sector and higher education, with a focus on strategic partnerships, philanthropy and community engagement. She is the founder of Urban Curiosity, a creative health consultancy that works with leaders and communities to support wellbeing, resilience and connection to place, purpose and each other.
Clare has lived in the borough for many years and believes place-based giving works best when it centres lived experience and supports local people to lead change. As a former community organiser, she has seen how neighbour-led ideas can transform a place. That's why she is excited to support Greenwich Giving to invest in bold local projects and to amplify community voices.
Kaan Yilmaztürk is a Consultant at New Philanthropy Capital (NPC), where he partners with foundations and charities to strengthen their impact measurement and monitoring.
He brings hands-on experience in managing grant portfolios, evaluating programmes, and crafting strategic frameworks that help organisations understand and improve their social impact. Kaan is proficient in using data to uncover insights that drive meaningful change.
Since moving to Greenwich in late 2022, he has embraced the opportunity to give back to the community that welcomed him to London.
