Because of your generous donations, the Social Connection Fund was able to support nine amazing projects across Greenwich, who received their funds in March 2026.
All funding decisions were made by a panel of local residents. The panel evaluated each application based on how clear and convincing they were, and whether they could create connection and reduce social isolation.
From many strong submissions, they chose, as a group, to fund the following initiatives:
Knit and Create Together, run by S.H.E. Together CIC, will be a friendly community knitting club for everyone especially for people who may feel lonely, stressed, or a bit disconnected from others.
Neurodiversity Celebration Event, organised by Calm Connect, will be an afternoon celebration bringing neurodivergent families together in Charlton, to create a space where they can connect, create, and be celebrated.
NTT Badminton, which is a Badminton Club in Abbey Wood and Thamesmead that allows adults to play sports together
Pace, Grace, Space – Girls' Rugby Tasters, run by Old Cofeians Rugby Football Club Limited, will deliver a series of free, inclusive girls' rugby taster sessions for children aged 6–14 living in and around the Eltham Page estate.
Charlton Community Champions Consortium will run two community celebration events, one in Charlton Hornfair and one in Eltham Page, bringing neighbours together through hands-on creativity, cultural activities, and welcoming spaces where everyone belongs.
A Corner of Paradise run by the Greenwich Homeless Project will bring together local community members, service users and volunteers to create a garden at their day and night centre.
Coldharbour Connections: Bringing Generations Together hosted by the Greenacres Home School Association will connect pupils from Greenacres Primary School with older members of the local community to reduce loneliness and bring generations together.
The Community Coffee Chat project, by the Community Needs Foundation, will create a welcoming space where people can stay, talk, and feel part of a community rather than simply collecting food from their existing foodbank programme and then leaving.
Greenwich Carers Voices by Greenwich Carers Social supports their singing group that brings together carers of both learning disabled and autistic adults.
We look forward to sharing more details about these projects and the impact they've created in the future. If you are interested in finding out about any of these charities or groups, we would encourage you to reach out to them directly using the links above.
And a huge thank you to our panellists for their hard work in making these decisions and engaging with the needs and assets of their neighbourhoods.
