Apply to the Social Connection Fund

The Social Connection Fund helps you turn your idea for connection into reality. Successful applicants can receive funding to create (or continue) clubs and projects where people can connect, belong and thrive. You will also receive practical support and advice to help you deliver successfully.

We are looking for people that want to make a difference in their local community. Whether you run a coffee morning, a dance club, or a creative writing workshop - if it helps people feel less isolated and more connected to their community, we want to hear from you.

Applications open: 12:00pm, 25th of November 2025.

Deadline: 5:00pm, 30th January 2026.

What You Need to Know

What we fund:

We can fund anything that brings people together and creates connection. This could be social clubs and regular activities, one-off community events, a series of workshops or many other projects.

We are looking for ideas that meet a local community need and projects that are open and inclusive to different groups in your neighbourhood. We encourage people to get involved if they do not have any previous experience in the charity and community sector.

You can apply for between £300 - £1,500 for your project. We anticipate that most grants will be made towards the lower end of this range, in order to support smaller grassroots groups and hyperlocal projects.

We do not need to fund the whole costs of your project, if you already have funding from elsewhere. This grant could help you to deliver a new aspect of your project or engage a larger group of community members.

Who can apply:

  • Greenwich residents living or working in our priority wards  with a host organisation
  • Unincorporated community groups (with their own bank account) based in Greenwich
  • Registered non-profit organisations based in Greenwich (with an annual income below £200,000)

How to apply:

Fill in a short application form online (or send us the application form). In the form, you will briefly tell us about your idea for a community project and give us a simple budget (here's a template for you!), so we can see how you plan to spend the money.

If you're having any trouble, get in touch with us!

What happens next?

  1. We will confirm we have received your application within a week
  2. A panel of residents will meet in February 2026 to make the decisions about what projects to fund, as they know what their community needs most
  3. We will let you know their decision within four weeks, so you will hear from us in March 2026
  4. If successful, we will have a quick call with you, and then projects will receive the money and support they need to get started!
